Emission Schedule

The emission schedule outlines the planned distribution of PRYSM tokens over time, starting from the genesis of the blockchain. It plays a crucial role in determining the rate at which new tokens are minted and introduced into circulation.

Starting Supply and Inflation:

PRYSM launches with a starting supply of 500 million tokens with an inflation rate of 5% per year.

Total Emission:

To calculate the total emission of PRYSM tokens, we can use the formula for compound interest:

Total Emission = Starting Supply * (1 + Inflation Rate) ^ Number of Years

Substituting the given values:

Total Emission = 500 million * (1 + 0.05) ^ Number of Years

Time to Reach 1,000,000,000 Tokens:

To determine how long it will take for the total emission to reach 1,000,000,000 tokens, we need to solve for the number of years:

1,000,000,000 = 500 million * (1 + 0.05) ^ Number of Years

Dividing both sides by 500 million:

2 = (1 + 0.05) ^ Number of Years

Taking the logarithm of both sides:

log(2) = Number of Years * log(1.05)

Number of Years = log(2) / log(1.05)

Calculating the result:

Number of Years ≈ 13.86 years
