Staking Overview
Staking involves bonding PRYSM tokens to a validator, which results in earning staking rewards. These validators utilize the bonded PRYSM to contribute to the security of the network.
Delegators, or stakers, are members of the community who bond their PRYSM tokens with a validator. In return, they receive staking rewards and contribute to network security. Both delegators and the validators they stake with can employ their staked PRYSM to participate in Governance, thereby influencing network decisions. Notably, the votes of individual users supersede those of validators they've staked with. Therefore, if a community member holds strong opinions on a proposal, they must exercise their voting rights as a PRYSM staker.
Validators differ across several dimensions, including technical proficiency (linked with uptime and the risk of being penalized), governance principles (their stance on governance proposals), commission charges (a portion of the staking rewards that validators retain to support their operations), and more. Researching to choose the most suitable validator ensures optimal outcomes for staking on PRYSM.
